Canvas
Superstudio’s open Canvas is a playground for ideating, curating, refining, and generating ideas. With its simple drag-and-drop interface, you can begin with a simple concept and expand it into a rich multimedia project, blending images, videos, and audio elements.
Action Menu
The first thing you’ll see when you open a new canvas is an Action Menu. This radial menu has options to create an image, video, audio, or explore all tools.
You can always click the yellow character, Kiko, at the bottom of the canvas to open your action menu and navigate through your options.
Quick Action Menu
You can also bring up Kiko’s Quick Action Menu anywhere on the canvas by either right-clicking on the Canvas or pressing shift and space on your keyboard.
Kiko
Kiko is your creative co-pilot located on the bottom of the canvas, and in the center of your Action Menus. Kiko can help you explore ideas, spark your creativity, and get the most out of Superstudio.
Flows
Within Canvases are Flows—short for workflows or creative flows—which are made up of modular, creative AI building blocks (Elements). Flows are how you generate new images, videos and audio.
Add a new Flow to the Canvas by selecting Image, Video or Audio from the Action or Quick Action Menus.
Access the Flows Menu by clicking Explore All Tools magnifying glass icon in the Action or Quick Action Menu.
In the Flows Menu you can:
Use the Explore Menu to browse by Flow type.
Search for a specific Flow.
Filter by feature type.
Explore newly added Flows.
Access the Creative Templates.
Image Flows
Flux Image Create an image using the Flux model from Black Forest Labs, ideal for realistic and typography-friendly outputs.
Recraft Image Generate high-quality images using Recraft, featuring exceptional text rendering and precise details. Perfect for digital artwork, illustrations, and photorealistic visuals.

Elements
Elements are modular, creative AI building blocks like style transfers, face references, upscaling, and audio-reactivity. They are individual components that make up a Flow.
Each Image, Video and Audio Flow have their own distinct Elements. Some Flows allow you add in additional Elements.to generate specific outputs for your own needs.
Elements include:
Aesthetic: Add up to three reference images and/or a text prompt to convey the specific aesthetic, or look, that you want to generate (includes Kaiber’s curated range of style aesthetics).
Audio Upload: Upload audio assets to use as an Element (available in audio flows).
Custom Model: Use a fine-tuned model to apply a consistent visual style (available in Image Lab 2.0 Flow).
Face: Upload an image of a human face to replicate it in your output (available in Image Lab Flow).
Image Details
Aspect Ratio: Choose from a selection of aspect ratios for generated images.
Height: Add in the height requirement for generated images.
Width: Add in the width requirement for generated images.
Layout: Add up to three reference images to control the composition of an image—arrange shapes/objects, frame elements, and balance different areas within the image (available in Image Lab Flow).
Model: Choose from the available models for that Flow.
Start Image & End Image: these images will be the initial and final frame of your video (available in Luma, Luma Ray 2 and Runway Flows).
Stencil: Apply any image as a stencil, mapping its shape directly to a new output. In Superstudio, stencils are controlnets (available in Image Lab and Image Lab 2.0).
Subject: Add reference images and text prompts to convey the subject that you want to generate.
Video Details:
Aspect Ratio: Choose from a selection of aspect ratios for generated videos.
Height: Add in the height requirement for generated videos.
Width: Add in the width requirement for generated videos.
Seconds: Specify the length of your video in seconds.
Intensity: Select the intensity to control how much change you will see in your video. (available in Flipbook, Video Lab and Video Restyle Flows).
Video Upload (available in Video Restyle 1, Video Restyle 2, and Video Lip Sync Flows).
Materials Library
Materials are images, videos, and audio files uploaded or generated in Superstudio.
On the right side of the Canvas, your Materials Library is where all uploaded and generated media, alongside Collections, are stored.
Use the filter tool to sort your Materials by media type, generation type, uploaded media, upscaled media.
Collections
Collections are groups of uploaded or generated images, videos, and audio files. On the Canvas, Collections can be moved to different locations or connected to Flows. By connecting a Collection to a Flow, you can generate media that gets added directly into the folder. Collections are also stored in your Materials.
Navigation
Navigation is located at the top of the Canvas. It offers four main features: Flow, Select, Move, and History.
Navigation features:
Create: Access the Flows menu.
Move: Scroll across the Canvas.
Select: Select Materials on the Canvas.
History: View the history, or restore past versions of each Canvas.
Share: Share a duplicate version of your Canvas.
Node Toolbar
Hovering over any node on the Canvas will bring up the Node Tool Bar, with additional tools you can use to interact with that node.
Media Node Toolbar features (left to right):
Create Collection.
Use in Flow (image and video only).
Edit image (image only).
Frame selector (video only).
Open in full screen (image and video only).
Download.
Remove from Canvas.
Collection and Flow Node Toolbars:
Remove from Canvas.
Media Drop Down Menu
Click on the 3 dots on the top right of Media on the Canvas to access the Media Drop Down Menu to:
Duplicate.
Delete.
Recreate Flow. This will respawn the parent Flow with all prompts and settings on to the Canvas. additional tools you can use to interact with that node.
Canvas Bar
The Canvas Bar is located on the left hand side of the canvas. Use the Canvas Bar to create a new Canvas, duplicate and delete Canvases, or to quickly switch to a different Canvas.
