Generating an Audio Reactive Flipbook Video

Turn your image and sound into a pulsing, animated music video

Updated over a week ago

Want to sync your visuals to music? Flipbook’s got you covered. It’s a model built specifically to animate an image based on an audio track — perfect for making eye-catching, reactive videos that move with the beat.

Let’s break it down step by step.

Step 1: Get Your Assets Ready

Before jumping in, make sure you’ve got two things on hand:

  • An image to animate

  • An audio file (MP3 or WAV)

Once you’ve got those, you're good to go.

Step 2: Add a Video Flow to the Canvas

On the left toolbar, click Create Video. This will add a new video flow onto your canvas.

At the top of the flow, find the Video Model dropdown. Scroll until you see Flipbook Video — it's marked as Audio Reactive. Click to select it.

Step 3: Fill In the Flow

Now let’s set it up properly.

Subject

This is your prompt. Describe what you want the animation to show or feel like. Be clear, but keep it simple.

Image Upload

Upload the image you want to animate. You can drag it straight into the box or upload it from your files.

Aesthetic

This defines your video’s style. You can either write a style manually (like “cyberpunk sketch” or “vintage watercolor”) or pick from the Curated Gallery for preset options.

Audio Upload

Same deal as before — drag and drop your music file or upload it directly.

Step 4: Adjust the Advanced Settings

This is where Flipbook starts to get fun.

Aspect Ratio

This is set automatically based on the image you uploaded.

Camera Movements

Here’s the secret sauce. Flipbook’s reactivity relies on these. Choose up to four camera movements — just cant use direct opposites (like “zoom in” and “zoom out” together).

Some great combos:

  • Zoom in

  • Pan down

  • Rotate clockwise

  • Pan left

Video Length

This is tied to the length of your audio. The longer your song, the longer the animation. Up to 8 minutes

Intensity

Controls how wild the movement gets.

  • Keep it low (1–4) for subtle shifts

  • Crank it high (7–10) for dramatic motion

Audio Reactivity

This sets how much the visuals react to your music.

Want the animation to bounce with every beat? Push the slider all the way to 10. Want it calmer? Dial it back.

Step 5: Generate Your Video

Once everything's filled in, hit Generate — and that’s it.

Flipbook will animate your image in sync with your audio, using the styles, movements, and reactivity settings you’ve chosen.

Give it a few minutes, then press play and watch your visual come to life.

Hot tip

Want to explore aesthetics and settings before creating your full video? Trim a 5–8 second clip of your audio and upload it for testing. This saves time and credits while you dial in the settings that match your vision.

To create an audio-reactive Flipbook video:

  1. Upload your image and audio
